Characteristics
SUS403 is a general-purpose martensitic stainless steel with excellent corrosion resistance. It can be hardened by quenching and tempering and is suitable for applications requiring combustion resistance and high strength.
Because its carbon content is lower than SUS420J1, SUS403 possesses high corrosion resistance and achieves excellent toughness after heat treatment, but its corrosion resistance is lower than austenitic stainless steels.
